World’s Smallest Puppy Raises Money for Abused Animals
This is Beyonce, a 5-week old puppy who was initially thought to be still born. She was resuscitated by animal rescue workers and is in the care of The Grace Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides care and rehabilitation for abused and neglected animals. Beyonce has become a spokespuppy for the group, and has her own web site, Facebook and Twitter pages. She is currently raising money and awareness to help rescue animals and place them in loving homes.
This morning she visited Today on NBC to spread her message. The adorable video is here.
British Hamster Adores Avant-Garde Furniture
You might say that Audrey’s taste is post-modern and eclectic. The 10-month-old Russian Dwarf hamster from the UK only furnishes her two-burrow apartment with avant-garde pieces that are more form than function.
The latest addition to her collection is the Cloud Couch (pictured above), a piece by Spanish designer Frederico Andres. It’s inspired by the cloudscapes that float over Barcelona, and retails for a cool $12,500. Only three exist, and Audrey never stops talking about how she outbid Alan Cummings for it at a Sotheby’s auction.
Anti-Kindle Cats Stage Bookshelf Protest
It’s widely known that cats prefer paper to ebooks. There’s more texture to rub your face on, and the smell of print can’t be beat.
Cats prize print over digital so much that a protest movement is stirring. A fringe group known as “Occupy Books” has been organizing to prevent personal libraries from going digital. Their main gripe? Amazon’s Kindle.
Cat Dismissed from Job After Telling Lewd Joke
An area cat was dismissed from his job at a local tuna canning facility after apparently telling a lewd joke involving a dog, a priest and a rubber chicken (The Fluffington Post has decided not to print the contents of the joke). ”This is the third time he’s been written up by HR,” said Hector Cesario, the cat’s union representative. ”There’s really nothing I can do for him at this point.”
